What Is CrossFit

CrossFit is high intensity, constantly varied, functional movements. It is the principal strength and conditioning program for many police academies and tactical operations teams, military special operations units, champion martial artists, and hundreds of other elite and professional athletes worldwide.
  
CrossFit delivers a fitness program that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specialising. CrossFit classes combine movements of olympic lifting, gymnastics, running,rowing and much more to prepare you for the physical challenges of everyday life. In classes you will develop strength, flexibility, speed, power, endurance, cardiovascular fitness, agility and more. Every workout is scalable to your current ability and we promote the following mantra at CrossFit Desire:

“We will help you redfine your fitness through movement mechanics, consistency and then intensity.”


The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability meaning it can be used on ANYONE, regardless of age, weight, height or fitness level. At CrossFit we scale load and intensity, but the fundamental movements remain the same – whether your a 70 year old maintaining your fitness or a 23 year old elite athlete. The needs of Olympic athletes and our grandparents differ by degree not kind.

CrossFit is also a great way to become part of a likeminded community of people focused on improving their health and well being. One of the best things about joining a cross fit gym is that you will feel like your joining an awesome family – you will make great friends and train in a supportive, at times challenging but always welcoming environment. The trainers and the members truly care about you, your goals and your results and becoming part of CrossFit Desire is a great experience on so many levels.

Getting Started

It is a common misconception that you need to be fit or strong before starting CrossFit. This is definitely not the case! The CrossFit method is designed to suit any level of fitness, the volume and intensity of the workouts change, not the program.  CrossFit is infinitely scalable and here at Crossfit Desire we cater for everyone of ALL fitness levels, ages and sizes.

OPTION 1:

You can come in and take part in one of our regular classes. Check out the timetable on the website and email us using the link below to book in for your first session.

This option would suit the individual who has an adequate level of fitness and is confident to ‘give it a go’. Qualified trainers will provide support and guidance and every workout is modifiable right down to the most basic of scaling options!

OPTION 2:

If you feel that you need some extra support, you can book in to see one of our friendly coaches to discuss your personal situation.

This meeting will allow us to discuss your goals and expectations as well as possible limitations or extra training requirements needed to ensure that CrossFit works for you (ie: any previous or current injuries, medical conditions or psychological barriers that may limit your training).
